In
1992 he moved to Paris, where he studied piano (Christine Paraschos),
improvisation (Pierre Cogen) and organ (Susan Landale) in the soloist
class at the music conservatory. At the final exam in 1995 he was
unanimously awarded the 1st prize of virtuosity by the jury (”Prix
de Virtuosité à l'Unanimité + Félicitations”).
He has since performed vigorously as a soloist at home and abroad, on
radio and television, participated as solist in international festivals (Aarhus
International Organfestival 2000/2003/2005, Holstebro International
Music Festival 2005, Kuhmo
Chambermusic Festival 2006), participated in several recordings of CD's and
movies, as well as he has published a hudge series of works for Danish publishers.
In 1995 Jakob Lorentzen founded his own choir, Graabrödre
Kammerkor (Grayfriar
Chamber Choir), which has already
obtained several prizes at international competitions.
Since 1996 Jakob Lorentzen has formed a
Duo
with the trombonist Jesper Juul Sörensen as well as he performs as a Duo with Janne Thomsen
(Paris), since 2001 Trio vith soprano Ditte Höjgaard Andersen (Berlin) and violinplayer
Jesenka Balic Zunic (Paris) and finally since 2006 duo with violinist Olga
Polonsky (Berlin).
Furthermore he is regularly the choir leader of the vocal ensemble Ars
Nova Copenhagen, Theatre of Voices and the
Danish
National Girls Choir.
Among the
numerous prizes he has been awarded is the Schröders Music Award and
Queen Ingrid's Commemoration Medal 2001.
On 21 January 2006 Jakob Lorentzen played in Christiansborg Palace Chapel
for the christening of HRH Prince Christian.
Jakob Lorentzen has been organist at the Danish Church in Paris. Today he holds the title
Master of the Music at Holmens
Kirke (The Royal Naval Church in Copenhagen) and Castle Organist at Christiansborg, Copenhagen.

Er ist ausgebildeter Kirchenmusiker vom
Kgl. Dänischen
Musikkonservatorium (Jahrgang 1994). Seine Solistenstudien hat
er 1995 am
Musikkonservatorium in Paris absolviert.
Jakob Lorentzen
gibt viele
Konzerte und ist sowohl Dirigent als
auch Orgelsolist sowie
ein geschätzter Begleiter. Er lehrt auch am Musikkonservatorium im
Fach Ensemblegesang und ist Mitglied der Komponistenvereinigung.
Jakob Lorentzen
hat viele Preise und Legate empfangen. 2001 erhielt
er die Gedenkmedaille
der Königin Ingrid.
